Peridot rarely forms large crystals and if so they are nearly always faceted ~ so large cabochons are really something of a rarity.

It's a lovely stone with perfect colour. There are some veils and inclusions ~ particularly the classic ' Lily Pads ' you can see in the last photograph.

To me these inclusions add character and authenticity.

Beautifully set by master craftemen using a higher grade of Sterling Silver which gives a brighter finish and needs less cleaning.

Pure Silver is used around the top of the Bezel to ensure a seamless fit.

The generous band has been shaped by hand to fit smoothly to the Bezel, which has also been curved underneath for a more comfortable fit to the finger.

This is a classic setting not out of place in Ancient Rome ( I remember seeing similar styles in the British Museum )

Finally there's the beautiful energy of Peridot. It has a light hearted joyfulness that lifts the spirits and helps to overcome nervous emotional tension.

It was traditionally known as the Merchants Stone for wealth and prosperity, and also as a Royal Stone.
